Please pay attention to the information below about the candidate qualification process.

Your first step is to register as a candidate. After you do so, you will receive a log-in to this website where you can post your 500 word candidate statement and your answers to the candidate questionnaire. What you submit in your on-line account will post immediately, so make sure to type carefully. You can log in at anytime to correct errors, modify your statement, or complete your candidate questionnaire.

Your candidate statement is REQUIRED.

Your candidate questionnaire is OPTIONAL

There are two other pieces to your application package.

All candidates are required to sign the Fair Campaign Rules document. You may review the document at your leisure here.

If there are any questions about these rules, send inquiries to election staff at nes@pacifica.org. We are happy to clarify any of the rules or provide additional information.

Once you register as a candidate on this website, they apply to you, so make sure you check them out.

After registration, election staff will send you a copy for you to sign. You must sign and return the Fair Campaign Rules document to the NES by June 30 or you will not remain an eligible candidate.

The final piece of your candidate package is your nomination petition. As a listener candidate, you must submit the names of 15 other members of your station who support your candidacy. As a staff candidate, you must submit the names of 5 other staff members at your station who support your candidacy.

After registration, election staff will send you an online petition form to enter the names and contact info for the members who are supporting your candidacy. The NES will send them a signature form to confirm their nomination of you.

You are encouraged to collect a few more names than the minimum so that you are covered just in case. Election staff will notify registered candidates periodically of the status of their nominator confirmations.
