I am a firm believer in the original mission of KPFK as follows: 1) Establish an education foundation 2) Establish & operate KPFK for educational use of this community 3) Use radio as creative force for community 4) Use radio as tool for understanding & community between all people 5) Use radio to promote information not available in other media vital to the community.

As a listener and citizen, I believe we need to sustain one of the few outlets for non corporate news left to us. As a native of this city I believe that opportunity exists for KPFK to provide more of the information and freedom of expression not available in most of the rest of this country. We need to work towards realization of the original goals of Pacifica Radio. With a determination to move forward into the future together we can restore the vision and sound footing to keep this important radio station on the air, providing this community with the clear example of what a vibrant, healthy, free and democratic radio station should be.

I believe my experience of over 30 years in sales has given me an opportunity to gain the trust and provided me with the skills to help people accomplish goals. By listening and understanding to what people want I have acquired the ability to help them achieve what it is they want. I continue to believe that through these same skills we can build consensus among the board and accomplish the common goals we have for KPFK.

No Response.

What key experience, connections, skills or traits would you bring to the Local Station Board to advance the station’s mission?
I have been an activist and worker for civil rights since a teenager. I first worked with The Crusade For Justice in Denver doing community outreach. In college I’ve worked for various political campaigns including five local state assembly campaigns, the Dukakis presidential race and get out the vote registration. I remain committed to working different people with diverse ideas towards a common goal, the sustaining of KPFK into the future.

What ideas do you have for helping the station and the Pacifica Foundation meet the financial challenges currently being faced?
1) Find an endowment to fill the gap left by loss of Federal funds
2) Encourage members to become more involved in volunteer work at the station.
3) Work with board members to ensure that the original mission of KPFK is moving towards the fulfillment of the primary mission.

Understanding that we have a common goal, though ideas on how to get there may vary, by listening and compromising with one another we can accomplish that objective.
