Staff Candidate
for the KPFK Local Station Board
Statement
I am a current member of the Local Station Board and I would like your vote to continue my work to help our station grow membership, raise more funds, and have more relevance to our communities.

I am an educator, with a PhD in linguistics from UCLA. I am also a volunteer producer and co-host of a weekly show currently airing on KPFK, so I am familiar with broadcasting, programming, fundraising, and community outreach and engagement.

The main purpose of the local station board is to actively expand our donor base and raise funds in a way that is consistent with our mission statement, bylaws, and the California Corporation Code for nonprofit organizations.

Being part of the Audit Committee, I appreciate that KPFK, together with other Pacifica member stations, is working hard to get our finances in order, and I would like to continue to this work. I would like to see KPFK regain listenership in its signal area through more visibility in our local communities. I will continue to collaborate on events and programming to put KPFK on the map for local organizations, community stakeholders, and new audiences.

I hope to count on your vote to continue as a Staff representative on the local station board.
