KPFK Listener Candidate: Mansoor Sabbagh
I, Mansoor Sabbagh, am running for KPFK’s Local Station Board (LSB) as a listeners’ representative, and I am seeking your support and vote.
I have done everything at KPFK except hold a managerial position: board operating, producing shows, hosting shows, sitting-in for the host of “Something’s Happening” show while they were vacationing, fund drive phone room administration during the night hours and on the weekend, pitching and soliciting financial support on the air, training volunteers, and whatever needed to be done to make the station a better place. Most importantly, I have never stepped on anybody’s head gain a position or paycheck during my tenure with Pacifica; my experience, skills and abilities have always take me to new positions with more responsibilities.
I have been involved with KPFK since the mid-1980s and wholeheartedly close to two decades. I have attend many LSB and Pacifica National Board (PNB) meetings. I have volunteered and organized tabling for KPFK for years. I have worked with many managers and program directors.
My name is Mansoor Sabbagh and I am seeking your vote to become a listener representative on KPFK’s LSB to render my experience, skills, and knowledge to further Pacifica’s mission.
Here is a bit more information about me. I am the director of Global Voices for Justice, a non-profit media organization based in Long Beach, California, since 2003. I have been recording lectures, panel discussions, conducting interviews, and arranging guest for hosts, from time to time, ever since. My radio shows have been broadcast on all Pacifica Radio Stations and many more of its affiliates nationwide. I have friends all over the foundation and a lot of colleagues in the media world. I have provided fund drive premiums for close to ten years.
