John Brinkley – WBAI – Candidate for LSB Outreach Coordinator

I seek election for the Outreach Coordinator at the WBAI Local Station Board because I want to continue working on getting the word out about the benefits of this station to the people in the listening area I’ve been working as Chair of the LSB Outreach and Fundraising Taskforce (LOFT) for the pass year and am ready to formalize my role. During this period of time, we have distributed hundreds of flyers during street fairs and other events, such as DemocracyNow’s event at the Riverside Church

I am a New Jersey-based Pan-Africanist and trained project manager. As an LSB member, I’ve drawn upon skills and knowledge acquired from a varied professional and community background, including:
• active membership in the People’s Organization for Progress (POP).
• working with community organizations to develop re-entry programs for the formerly incarcerated
• as a member of the Tri-State Save “Like It Is” Coalition, challenging the renewal of the four TV networks’ FCC licenses
• functioning on various professional levels in college, corporate, local government, and nonprofit environments.
