As a current member of the WPFW Local Station Board, I have assisted in drafting proposals to guarantee fair treatment of our unpaid staff and to encourage more input from members into on-air programming and operations As a fervent believer in free speech, democracy, and the Pacifica mission, I consider myself to be among the guardians of our radio station in making sure that we stand for “jazz and justice” in these very challenging times. As the manager of a small business and a former CEO of an employment agency, I have solid organizational and people skills, which are vital as the station navigates very complex political and financial terrain during the next few years. I also serve my community on the board of another DC organization that works to improve recreation and fitness in the African American community, and I have volunteered to support fair housing initiatives.
