Listener Candidate for the KPFT Local Station Board
I am Rita Washington, your candidate for the KPFT LSB 2021 election. I currently serve on two committees with the KPFT LSB: Finance Committee and the Management and Selection Review Committee. I would like to continue to serve on the KPFT LSB as we continue to ensure that the mission and goals of Pacifica and KPFT are duly executed. There have been a lot of challenges and struggles that the station and Pacifica have encountered and the LSB needs people who put KPFT and Pacifica before their own personal interests. It takes commitment, dedication, perseverance, and stamina to serve on the LSB. The rewards are great, knowing that you are impacting the community and working with the community to make the Progressive movement stronger.

KPFT needs to represent the diversity in views and opinions to ensure that it reflects the communities it serves. We need persons from the various communities to provide us with feedback and input during the Public Comment session of the KPFT LSB meetings so that their concerns may be addressed. Also, we need volunteers from the various communities to donate their time and talents to the station. As a member of the KPFT LSB I can assist in making sure that diversity is a priority at the station.

Finally, there are so many things I like about KPFT and serving on the LSB. I do know that changes need to be made to increase our listenership, membership, and revenue. I am committed and dedicated to using all my resources in these areas.

My name is Rita Washington, and I am asking for your vote as a listener candidate for the KPFT LSB.
