Listener Candidate for the KPFT Local Station Board
Statement
My name is Monica Villarreal and I am running for a seat on the Board of Directors because I would love for the board and the KPFT radio station to include more voices that are diverse. I have been a listener for over 20 years. I assisted in a few radio shows such as Nuestra Palabra (NP) and Sound of Soul (SOS). I am familiar with the station and how it is ran. My background and experience as an artist and woman of color gives me the capacity to provide the board different perspective and focus on inclusion. I would provide a level of experience as a local community organizer and activist.
