Contact Richard Wolinsky
Staff Candidate for the KPFA Local Station Board
Statement
I’m Richard Wolinsky and I’m running for my second three year term for staff rep to the KPFA Local Board. I’ve been with KPFA on the air continuously since 1977, with fourteen years as KPFA Folio Program Guide editor from 1978 to 1992. I support the work Antonio Ortiz and the administrative staff have done in promoting KPFA, bringing new programmers on the air, expanding the website and enlarging the station’s footprint in the Bay Area.

Because of my long-time tenure in radio, and as a former Board member whose programming is syndicated on Pacifica Audioport to several stations around the country, I’ve worked hard to explain to listener Board members exactly how radio gets created and produced, and what is realistic and what is not. As a board member, I will continue to represent the staff, both paid and unpaid, to the best of my ability and knowledge. I have been with KPFA since 1976, currently host the Bookwaves/Artwaves Hour, two podcasts, Radio Wolinsky and Bay Area Theater on the kpfa.org website, and on-air theatre reviews on UpFront and my own program.
