Statement
My name is Marilyn Mateo also known as "Mari" of "On the Count: The Criminal Legal Reform Report. I am a bilingual Latina that studied English and Philosophy at NYU graduating with a bachelor's degree in said fields. Starting as a Paralegal for eight years, I ventured into education wherein I have been an English Teacher for fifteen years.

Most Saturday mornings at 10, co-hosts Harmony, Andre Imani Ward and I bring the lives of people involved in the criminal legal system to the community and vice versa. We are a voice for the voiceless and an imperative line of communication for individuals in the community who are vested in the reformation of the Criminal Legal System due to either personal experience or that of a loved one.

We discuss systems, policies, practices, and personal growth and provide a connection on both sides of the bars and throughout our society.

The station is vital to increasing understanding among all of us at all stages of life. The goal is to aid in the reformation of the Criminal Legal System, uniting various media outlets into said reformation, expansion to all jails and prisons in the United States and continuing to be harmonious and hopeful to all.
