Staff Candidate
for the KPFA Local Station Board
Statement
If I am elected to the Station Board my priority will be to guarantee that the station remains financially solvent. This includes preventing the national Pacifica organization from seizing our assets to pay bills that other stations have accumulated.

We need a strong general manager and business manager who will create budgets with realistic goals for fundraising and prudent spending policies so that fund raising can be shortened.
I will also insist on fair practices when paid and unpaid staff policies are addressed. Staffing and program policies must be transparent and without favoritism. Expanded training programs will help integrate new staffers, bringing new ideas to the airwaves.

We need to expand outreach to communities that haven’t heard of KPFA and make a bigger effort to address their concerns. Growing the audience is essential to the survival of the station and the fulfillment of its mission.
