All media has a message. WBAI's purposes of maintaining space for dialogue and debate, for conflict-resolution, for information not colored by a profit motive, and for celebrating arts is unique.
This allows exploration of an endless range of topics.
My name is Corazon Valiente and I am running for a listener seat on the Local Station Board where I will be using my skills of communication, attentive listening, and collaborative and creative expression working to increase awareness of the station's mission: https://www.wbai.org/mission.html
I am very involved in my community including the establishment of a memorial at the rediscovered Flatbush African Burial Ground. History matters.
I was encouraged last year by Sister Betty Davis and Brother Ralph Poynter to run for the board and work towards protecting free speech media.
I intend to help expand WBAI's presence on various platforms and to increase its listenership and membership.
