I am Robin Lewis a candidate for KPFT Local Station Board Fundraising and Membership Coordinator.
I am running because I want this new LSB office and responsibility to fulfill the goals envisioned in the 2025 Pacifica bylaws. To be effective in this new responsibility, the LSB must coordinate constructively with management that has the primary responsibility for both fundraising and membership.
I am uniquely qualified for this new role because I have been engaged in fundraising and membership development with KPFT for 20 years in a variety of capacities. Currently I have a contract engagement with KPFT which qualifies me to run and vote as a listener member.
Fundraising initiatives that I have help develop and manage include:
- Organizing on-air fund drives and reporting results periodically
- Initiating FCC compliant underwriting for KPFT
- Maintaining KPFT’s web site and online donating through the web site
- Maintaining KPFT’s membership software, managing over 3000 active member files
- Memory bricks for sustaining donors installed at the station
- Successful applications for philanthropic gifts
- Organizing events with management, staff and volunteers, recently. For example:

- Blues Cruise with Nuri Nuri
- Crawfish Boil celebrating KPFT’s 56th anniversary
KPFT is the station that makes the best use of the membership management system Allegiance. I’m sometimes asked to consult with staff at other stations on its use.
