Listener Candidate for the WBAI Local Station Board
Statement
Please vote to include me on the Pacifica Radio board as a representative from WBAI radio.

In a shrinking media universe and given the crisis of a legacy media juggernaut, I seek to join the board of the Pacific Radio community and represent the interests of WBAI radio to preserve radio integrity based on free and open inquiry. As a political activist in the Green Party and a media activist with Truth Action Project, I am acutely aware of pressure from legacy media to not challenge mainstream narratives. Muzzled media cannot make a difference, but free and unfettered radio can. Toward open, fair, and critically incisive media, I will work others to preserve and strengthen Pacific Radio service.

As a media and a Green Party activist, I am committed to supporting the mission of the Pacific Radio consortium and work with others on the board to preserve this important radio programing.

Over the course of my life I have worked in workers’ compensation insurance claims, worked in restaurants as a food server, and taught language arts and social studies in middle school.

In the past, I have volunteered as a media activist for Portland Oregon’s KBOO Community Radio and appreciate the importance of community radio as an independent source of information. I also have background as a volunteer mediator helping resolve disputes in small claims and landlord / tenant court.

Currently, I am an activists in the Green Party and am advancing a Green Liberty Caucus to focus attention on a demand for accountability for state crimes that have strengthened the hand of the power elite and undermined the grass roots democratic practices in our country.

As a political truth activists, I am acutely aware of the power of propaganda to lull the population into accepting false narratives that undermine our democracy and strengthen the hand of a plutocracy that has a powerful influence on all sectors of society. I am on the board of Truth Action Project, an activist media project that hosts forums intended to educate about the false narratives that cover up crimes associated with the September 11th attacks, the recent Covid Pandemic and other events that reveal our country is tending toward an emerging techno-totalitarianism run by a powerful and unaccountable technocracy.

I am aware of the importance of being able to work with others on the board to advance the interests of the Pacific Radio network. Maintaining the Pacific Radio network as a consotium of independent radio voices is more important than ever given the power of the financial elites to control and thereby limit speech and deny and limit the full investigation of important issues.
