Hi everyone, staff, programmers, and producers,
This is Mansoor Sabbagh, aka Buzz, host and producer of Something’s Happening at Midnight, which is on Monday night/Tuesday morning through Thursday night/Friday morning, 12midnight till 6am.
I was on KPFK’s Local Station Board (LSB) for three years (2017) and on Pacifica National Board (PNB) for two years (2018-2020). I did not run again because the old by-laws had a lot of flaws and loopholes, more than a Swiss cheese, and were dysfunctional and abusive. (Just a side note, I have participated and been a [major] contributor to the original bylaws—2002—, the 2019 unsuccessful by-laws referendum, and 2021 by-laws referendum—now successful after a lot of battles, including court litigations.)
The only reason, let me emphasize, the only reason, that I am willing to be nominated as a staff candidate representative this time is that I am dedicating my time and energy on the FINANCIAL side of the station. I “know and understand” the station’s “politics”, Los Angeles, southern California regional, statewide, national, and international politics, geopolitics, and the war “games” on the global level. I am dedicated my time, energy, and knowledge to rebuilding a community-based radio station for now and on into the undetermined future. [And that goes for the nation as well.]
